Disinfecting

Whilst ensuring a thorough job of cleaning is important, the job doesn’t stop there. Choosing the right disinfectant and application method is key to completing a successful job. We have many options to choose from and are happy to discuss them in detail but if what you are looking for isn’t listed below, please get in touch to see how we can help.

We provide professional disinfection services for livestock sheds using advanced thermal fogging technology. Thermal foggers create a fine mist of disinfectant particles that can penetrate hard-to-reach areas, ensuring complete coverage throughout the shed. This process effectively reduces pathogens, bacteria, and viruses, enhancing biosecurity and creating a healthier environment for your birds. Our team is trained to handle all aspects of thermal fogging safely and efficiently, delivering a thorough, high-standard of disinfection.

We utilise the operation of orchard spraying to effectively disinfect poultry sheds, ensuring a clean, sterile environment for your birds. Our specialised orchard sprayer creates a powerful, fine mist of disinfectant, ensuring comprehensive contact with all surfaces, including walls, floors, and equipment. This method is ideal for broiler sheds, allowing for quick disinfection that minimizes downtime while effectively controlling pathogens. Our trained professionals are committed to following personalised disinfection programs tailored to your individual site to enhance the overall health of your poultry.

A foaming lance is ideal for effective disinfection in livestock and industrial environments. Foaming lances apply a layer of disinfectant foam that adheres to walls, floors, and equipment, allowing for extended contact time to break down harmful bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. This method uses a greater amount or water and product but ensures an even, comprehensive coverage as the larger amount of solution allows the disinfectant to seep into pours in walls and floors and allows the products to spread naturally over a large area.

Often used in flat deck sheds as a disinfecting method due to the versatility of the tool and the lack of hose pipes dragging over equipment and snagging on feed track legs. The applicator propels the disinfectant using a powerful fan, very similar to the application method of the orchard sprayer, although in. a handy back pack style. The advantage of using the fan the distribute the disinfectant means that the product can get into very hard to reach areas with minimal input from the operator. It offers a very effective way of ensuring a through coverage in a tricky environment.

Red mite control can be a major issue and expenses for many in the poultry sector. We can offer the application of Diatomaceous earth after washing and disinfecting has taken place, to help give a head start against the dreaded mite. We apply the product in a slurry form, to all the ‘highways’ that the red mite may use. The ‘slurry’ then dries onto the surface leaving a dust like appearance. Diatomaceous earth is effective at killing red mites due to its unique physical properties. Composed of fossilized remains of tiny aquatic organisms called diatoms, diatomaceous earth has a microscopically sharp, abrasive texture. When red mites come into contact with it, the sharp particles damage their exoskeletons, causing tiny cuts. This process leads to the dehydration and eventual death of the mites, as the diatomaceous earth absorbs oils and moisture from their bodies.

This combined with an insecticide application can give you the best starting point for your new flock and keep mite levels to a minimum for longer.
